Airpods not showing the firmware

So I have an iphone 8 and the generation 2 airpods with the wireless charging case. I connect them to my phone and then go to setting, general, about, then i open the lid then wait a second and they don’t show up under SEID. Ive reset the airpods, turned my phone off all the way, waited a couple minutes then turned it back on. Ive given my airpods some time to update but i never know if they upate or if they don’t, because i cant check the firmware on them. Can anyone help?? Also my phone is on 13.5.1

Is it possible that these are fake AirPods? I am having the exact same issue, but the pair I bought off a third party don't seem to show anything under EID either :(

Mind you that noise cancellation, transparency, wireless charging, the text on the box, the serial number, all of it checks out .. but I am having issues connecting to multiple devices. Making me feel like I've been duped, I can't even tell if they're the real deal, or unbelievably amazing replicas.

I’m having the same issue. Checked serial number and it all checks out, looking at the Apple page saying they are real deal right now. Tried multiple times to reset, but am concerned they aren’t even resetting properly, as whenever I perform the reset per Apples instructions, they show up with “Not your AirPod pro” pop up. Connect and work fine (minus some weird connectivity issues when touched or bumped). Tried calling but got very little help (all In store locations are currently closed for COVID), saying the case battery had to be above 95% before she could help? This seems wack. I’m about to leave for Korea for a year, would be super cool if this issue could be resolved.
