Trade In, "product/serial number mismatch"

I sent in my iPhone 6s for trade in. The estimated trade in refund was changed from $100 to $50 because of "product/serial number mismatch." I entered the number correctly. Any help as to what this means, how to deal with it?

Trade In Issue Long story long, I bought an iPhone, with an added trade in of my iPhone 8. I had to cancel that order because I accidentally ordered the wrong one. So I order the correct iPhone, along with a trade in of my iPhone 8. The trade in kit came, and I sent my iPhone 8 in the kit, with a printed page of my trade in order. I looked up the fedex status and it has been delivered. A few days later a second trade in kit came. The status of my trade in, is now waiting for me to send in the iPhone 8. But I already have, and haven’t received a refund. Sorry for the long story, what should I do?

Charged for iPhone trade in instead of refund I traded in an iPhone 11 when I bought my new iPhone a few weeks ago. I sent in my iPhone 11 and got a confirmation email saying that they received the iPhone and will be sending me $212 for the trade in. My credit card says I was charged $212, so I contacted support who told me I was “refunded” and sent me the invoice where it says I was actually CHARGED $212. I asked them why it says I was charged and not refunded, they basically said idk and couldn’t help me - they said contact my bank. im extremely frustrated here because I wouldn’t have traded In my iPhone to pay an extra $212 for this whole ordeal.

Thank you, I suppose that explains it. Or would, if they hadn't told me that it would be $100. (Cranky because they did that same thing with a trade-in laptop--sky high estimate, very low actual price offered.)
