clickTracker.gz

clickTracker.gz showed up on my iMac yesterday and I don't know what it is nor unable to find out online in a way that I can understand it, nor able to find out how to get rid of it!!! Can anyone help me out?

Also there is something called Uncompress, a button on the grey rectangle that shows up with the desktop icon that looks like a paper with a zipper on it with letters GZ, also Zero KB, and "Last modified May 13, 2020 at 1:37:05 PM" also!! This is all strange and arcane to me. Also looks like a mail button on the upper right corner near the word Uncompress. Very very weird! I'd appreciate any enlightenment on this! I mean, it just showed up out of the blue (or wherever!) Thank you for any help given.

The free Malwarebytes which may take care of it...

Or...

EtreCheck is a simple little app to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac.

Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report if you capture the URL while there…

https://pastebin.com/

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts..

Thank you for your reply BDAqua. I have to say I am still confused. I have Malwarebytes and ran a scan with no problems showing up, also looked at the settings with nothing enlightening there either. I wonder if I can just get rid of clickTracker.gz by dragging it to the Trash and what would be repercussions if I did!? Not sure what EtreCheck would do for me as I wasn't trying to do anything with the system configuration, nor Pastebin. How did clickTracker.gz find my computer in the first place? Again thank you for your suggestions. Have a nice day!!!
