Mixed up airpods

I have two sets of AirPods (Gen 2), one is under warranty, one is not. One set is acting up and I want to get them checked out by support, but I'm not sure if I have the right airpods for that case or if I mixed them up. Can you somehow match the serial number on each AirPod to the serial number on the case?

To see the serial number of your AirPods, connect them to your iPhone, then go to:

Settings > General > About > name of your AirPods > Serial Number.
