Time Capsule - Starting Over?

One MacBook Air on High Sierra, another on Mojave. Originally was backing up my 17" MacBook Pro via Time Machine to the 2GB Time Capsule.

But I feel like "starting over" - and just backing up the two MacBook Airs.

Worth it? With the price of external USB drives extremely low ... and Time Capsules no longer supported by Apple ...

I also use SuperDuper! on local USB drives to create complete, bootable backup weekly.

THANK YOU.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14

Things like this are pretty much personal preference.

Probably worth it if the Time Capsule is less than 5 years old and you like the convenience of backing up over the WiFi without attaching a USB drive to the Mac(s).

But, it might be a good idea to back up to both the Time Capsule and a USB drive. When....not if...the Time Capsule fails, you still have backups on the USB drive.

If you are looking for simplicity and reliability, the USB drive would be the way to go.

Your Time Capsule may or may not be still supported depending on what model that you have. For example, although the 5th Gen Time Capsule was officially discontinued in April 2018, Apple normally "supports" a product for 7 years after the date it was discontinued.
