Apple Care is a rip off

I've been paying for Apple Care every month since I purchase this iPhone X. It needs a repair due to problems making and receiving phone calls. After several calls with Support, I was told that I must pay an additional $99 for "Express Repair" which provides me with a loaner phone while I send my phone in for repair. So why am I paying for Apple Care? Angry in Albuquerque

Express "Replacement" is free. Your old phone is not being repaired, it's replaced with the new one you're getting.

You are paying for the new phone which must have had accidental damage to be charged.

Thanks for your reply. However, I don’t understand your statement:

“You are paying for the new phone which must have had accidental damage to be charged.” The NEW/replacement phone will be damaged? My current phone does NOT have accidental damage. It simply is not working properly. I suppose I can just put up with calls not connecting on first try, and hope I can bring it in to nearby Apple Store before ApplecCare expires in September.

There has been nothing to lead to that conclusion. Phone is not "accidentally damaged"; it just stopped working properly.

So, once again, I did not make this conclusion, it seems Apple did.

Since they are charging you the replacement cost for a device with accidental damage, THEY must feel this, NOT ME.

The service will never have a fee, which is what you thought you were being charged.

Best of luck. You want to debate this with me and I have no stake in this. I tried to educate you by quoting DIRECTLY from Apple's website and I gave you the URL for follow up.
