Wifi dropping - diagnostics report

Hi,

My wi-fi keeps dropping. I got a diagnostics report. How do I actually get this interpreted?

"wireless diagnostic report" is a phenomenally badly-named thing. It should be called Wireless diagnostics DUMP. I have looked at one, ONCE (I will never be so stupid to do that again.) It contains a list of all settings that could possibly influence your wireless operation in any way, however remote. It is so huge, it needs to be compressed.

Perhaps if you were already working with an Apple Network engineer, it might prove useful to them.

Far easier to collect, and MUCH more useful is to simply screenshot or transcribe the values from the snapshot that shows when you hold the Option key and click on the Wi-Fi Icon in the menubar. Looks something like this older version:

also, How many networks do you see listed?

Hello goobyplz.

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. If I'm understanding correctly, you generated a Wireless Diagnostics report and would like to know what to do with it. I will be glad to assist. Wireless Diagnostics reports should be given to your network administrator, service provider, or IT support person for further analysis as recommended here: Use Wireless Diagnostics on your Mac

Cheers.
