Is a Bluetooth connection essential?

My LG webos 2019 doesn't support Bluetooth and I can't connect Appletv, is that the problem?

What is your model Apple TV device? Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support

Your Apple TV set-top box doesn’t rely on bluetooth from your TV. The box wants to communicate with the TV through the HDMI connection. There is however a bluetooth connection between the Siri Remote and the Apple TV (4th generation or later).

The remote only allows me to slide down the list and nothing else.

If the issue is with operating the remote, then read here: Use your Siri Remote with your Apple TV - Apple Support. You probably have to realize how to click to confirm a selection.

The issue faced with the OP was related to figuring out the usage of the remote, specifically using the touchpad to select. Based on your post it looks like you have a separate issue that you are facing. In that event I would suggest you create a new thread and detail the exact nature of what you are facing so it can be properly addressed.

Not a problem. Most content will require wither a subscription, or be purchased/rented through iTunes, that is correct. While there will be some free content, they will have caveats (i.e. limited selection, ad supported, lesser known, capped viewings etc). That would be the case on any streaming box. However, if you have further questions regarding Apple TV, content or features, let us know and we can try to assist further. Cheers.
