my iphone 11 pro max has been hacked. what do i do

My iPhone 11 pro max has been hacked! My almost ex-husband bought me a HP laptop with Windows 10 in March which I scarcely know how to use yet; in May, I purchased the 11 pro max at Cellular Sales, stayed with Verizon service, it was activated. My very old iPhone 6 plus was not deactivated at that time. I had 11,000 photos, separation documents, family videos on the 6 plus - salesperson suggested I keep the 6 Plus until I'd had a chance to check my new phone to make sure I was satisfied that iCloud hadn't failed me and all my stuff got transferred over. BUT, I've been so overwhelmed, I didn't activate the old phone until today when I realized that might be why I got hacked. I'm not sure my laptop is properly synced with 11 pro max. I've been on tons of sites trying to get assets, debts, bank accounts, loans, etc split between husband and I. Lots of research related to getting divorced. I'm confused about security on my devices - if they are working together or against each other?? Where do I start?? Anybody out there have the patience to help me??

Well, let me get this out right away. Your phone has not been hacked. You've at least not suggested anything that proves your new phone has been hacked and honestly, even the FBI is incapable of hacking an iPhone, so it's very unlikely your's has been. You just need to understand how to move data from your previous phone to your new phone.

Start with this link about transferring data from a previous iPhone to a new iPhone --> Transfer data from your previous iOS device to your new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If this all overwhelming for you, schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar for assistance moving the data from your iPhone 6 to your new phone.

Thanks for replying.

I didn’t even mention why I think I’ve

been hacked.  I should have said my FaceBook account was hacked and

“spreading”.  Last week, all my friends in Messenger got a strange video

from me that they could not open.  At once, my friends started notifying

me  “You’ve been hacked”.  I thought I had followed all the

instructions FB/Messenger walked me through because at the end of the process

FB basically said my account was secure.  Problem solved or something like

that.  No problems.  But yesterday, scrolling through FB posts, I saw

the same video – checked all the comments of people telling that lady she’d

been hacked, don’t open it, some said it had been circulating around for a long

time, etc so I said nothing.  This morning, going through my email (I

should say I was on my iPhone 11 for all this), clicked on email from a pet

rescue and the same video came up.  Didn’t open it.  I’ve been

looking for a Bengal cat to rescue or purchase from breeder – later on today,

in email, breeder sent me a response about cat I indicated interest in – I

clicked on a link to view what I assumed to be additional photos/videos of cat

– Safari opened up and warned “Are you sure you trust this site?” or something

like that, so I deleted it.

What do you make of this?

Your Facebook issue is not an iPhone hacked issue. People's Facebook accounts get hacked all the time. When that happens (it's happened to me on multiple occasions), you just change your Facebook account password. And the Safari issue is normal as well. If your phone thinks a site may not be a safe or secure site, it will ask if you really trust enough to open it. There's an old saying, "just because your paranoid, it doesn't mean they're out to get you." You're being cautious, which is good, but a bit paranoid as well. As I mentioned above, the FBI can't hack into an iPhone. It's VERY unlikely someone out there has the equipment the FBI has, so I think you can stop worrying and just enjoy your new phone.
