MacBook Pro 2017 June Model - Backlight issue same as 2016 models

Hi All,

My MacBook Pro is has the same issue as that of 2016 models where the backlight at the bottom of the screen shows like stage lights. Refer the image:

I did some research and it seems it is a known issue but Apple decided only to fix the 2016 models as per this program - https://support.apple.com/en-sg/13-inch-macbook-pro-display-backlight-service

The authorised Mac service centre has confirmed it is the same issue but they are not able to cover it under the same program and hence it required to be a paid service. I spoke to apple support and they too refused to resolve the issue. Has anyone faced similar issue with 2017 and above models? What are the options available in such cases? Appreciate your response. Thanks.
