i created a document on pages on my ipad. i want to send it in an email, as text (not a PDF ) how?

What does “text” mean? Does it mean you want to embed the Pages’ content directly into the email? If so, copy (or cut) the contents of the Pages document and paste it into the body of the email.

You should be able to send the document as an RTF (Rich Text File) by going to the More button in the top right corner (the three dots) and selecting Export. The RTF option should be available. Choose that and then in the next window select email as your choice for sending the file.
