iPhone 8s Plus Calls Dropping and Music Skipping

I’m experiencing issues with my phone after I installed the most recent software update. My phone calls keep dropping and when I’m trying to listen to music, my songs skip, stop playing or sometimes Siri pops up while I have something playing. I’ve tried resetting my network settings and restarting my phone multiple times. Anyone know how to resolve this? It’s getting so frustrating.

If the skipping is happening with downloaded content and streaming content, and you're already using iOS 13.5.1, try deleting and reinstalling the Music app: Delete built-in Apple apps on your iOS 12, iOS 13, or iPadOS device or Apple Watch. When you do this, offline content will be deleted so you may need to re-download songs after.

Does this happen on both cellular data and on a Wi-Fi network, or does it work on one connection type?


Does the issue with music happen with only streaming songs, or does it happen if you download a song directly to your device also? Add and download music from Apple Music or buy music from the iTunes Store

Thanks for that additional information. If the issue is only occurring when you have headphones in, that is helpful in narrowing things down. Are they Bluetooth headphones, or wired?


Do you have another set of headphones available? If so, test those; does the same issue occur?


If they're Bluetooth, this resource could help also: If the sound from your wireless headphones cuts out or is distorted

Thanks for your response!


My music seems to be skipping and pausing regardless of my connection type. I’ve noticed it while I’m on WiFi and on cellular data. The songs are all mainly purchased from the ITunes Store as well so they were downloaded to my phone.


I will try the link you sent for some troubleshooting for my calls dropping. If there is anything else you can think of please let me know, I appreciate your help!

I will try deleting and re-downloading my music app. I am realizing that when I play music on speaker without headphones, I am not having the issue of songs pausing or skipping.


Could there be something in my audio settings or an issue with my headphones that could cause calls to drop and my music to pause/skip? I usually have my headphones on when I make calls.
