Catalina 10.15.5 dock memory leak

After upgrading to Catalina 10.15.5, my dock activity process shows an increasing bytes written until my hard drive is completely out of memory. When I restart I get all my drive space back, but then after a few hours the dock has eaten it all up again.

I've reinstalled Catalina, reset the SMC & PRAM, and killed the dock process. The only way I can get all my HD space back is restarting.

How do I fix this?

Mac mini, macOS 10.15

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only person with this problem - the entire internet had nothing at all on it and the Apple tech support guy had never heard of it.

The O/S installation repair did not fix it, and just wasted more time. I had to first back everything up on an external drive, then erase the disc, then reinstall the O/S.
