Hi,
Did you also try the recommended advise:
https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT203106#gethelp?
If so, could you check all your settings:
- Bluetooth working? On all devices?
- please post the devices and os involved :
Type of device + iOS, iPadOS and MacOS.
- are there any devices that you can use to airdrop to?
- Has it worked before?
I will see what I can do, but if you followed the instructions, I think you should contact Apple support (AppleCare) by phone, or schedule a call back on apple.com.
Some very good instructions were given.
If issue persists, try
Mac
System preferences > Security and Privacy > Firewall > (open padlock) turn off firewall
That might do the trick
You may want to consider a more well known communications standard like SSH or SFTP. It may be a little more complicated more more secure.
I have a MacBook Air 2020, and I am experiencing the same issue. I've tried booting into Safe Mode, restarting all my devices, AND booting into Recovery and reinstalling the latest macOS. AirDrop from iPhone/iPad to Mac is NOT working.
I'm having the same problem since my updating of both MacOS and iOS.
-Bluetooth working on both items, as I tested them w/ my bluetooth speaker
-Devices involved: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), MacOS Catalina 10.15.5. iPhone 6+, iOS 12.4.7
Tried other devices to AirDrop to, but still nothing
It worked as designed everytime until the recent software update
hey! i have the same issue and already do your instruction. still not working! :( i'm using new macbook pro 2017
