iPad to iPad transfer

If I move from my iPad to my husbands iPad will his photos etc. still be there after I transfer? I am consolidating to one iPad because mine is old.

Sorry for your loss.


Here’s what I would do:

  1. Transfer your late husband’s photos from the iPad to a computer. Let that computer serve as the repository for the photos (but see step 5 below). Transfer photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
  2. Transfer any other items you might wish to preserve from the iPad to some other place (presumably a computer).
  3. Thoroughly and completely cleanse that iPad as follows: What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
  4. “Move in” to your “new” iPad! Transfer data from your previous iOS device to your new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
  5. Perhaps you would prefer to store all your photos in iCloud. That way, they don’t have to remain on a computer. Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support
