I’ve bought used IPhone 8 a few months ago.
The phone worked. I registered under my iCloud and used the phone for a while. While updating the phone's IOS, a message popped up stating that the Iphone had been lost and erased.
Included with the Iphone is a box with IMEI such as on the phone itself.
What should I do now?

If you are not the owner and do not have the Apple ID and Password then there is no way that you can get into this iPhone unless the original owner shares the Apple ID and password with you. If you are lucky you can get into this iPhone if they (owner) accidentally remove the device from their apple ID.
