Wireless audio sync doesn’t work UE Megaboom 3

Connect Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 to Apple TV with Bluetooth. Audio plays through the Bluetooth speaker but there is an audio lag. I tried Wireless Audio Sync in TVOS however the test tones play through the tv not through the Megaboom speaker and the lag is not corrected.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Has anyone managed to get Wireless Audio Sync working with the Megaboom 3?

The test tone is supposed to play through the TV. After the process is complete it will either say it is complete or that it failed. If it failed then turn up the volume on your TV and move your phone closer. If it complete and you still have lag than the issue either resides in the speaker or there are other issues in the environment that couldn't be overcome.

Thanks @vazandrew. The Wireless Audio Sync test tones are played through the TV and test completes with a message to say it's been successful.

However the speaker still has a lag.

I don't see how any lag in the speaker could be corrected without playing the test tones through the speaker to measure the lag. Am I missing something?

The guide specifically mentions that it corrects sync issues with bluetooth speakers But how can it possibly do that by listening to test tones from the tv speakers?

Perhaps the lag being measured is the lag between the Apple TV and the TV. But why is that of any use?

I'm probably missing something. Maybe someone can explain how it works :)

It is using the phone to measure and the test tone will be played through the TV. This is to correct general issues that could occur. However, it can not account for any specific issues with the BT speaker in use or other things in the environment that can contribute to lag.

If the test shows as complete and you are still experiencing lag then you will have to refer to troubleshooting for the speaker and/or do further investigation into the environment it is being used in.

So let me get this straight. Apple created something called ‘Wireless Audio Sync’ which ‘corrects general issues that occur’ in a tv - which is connected by a wire to the Apple TV.

However ‘Wireless Audio Sync’ has nothing to do with correcting lag in wireless Bluetooth speakers?

Next you’ll be telling me it has something to do with colour management ;)

Not what I said at all. The phone is the measuring device and the Apple TV is connected to the TV, which is where the tone needs to emit to be able to properly address any lag that would occur between the TV and an external source, and run a process to correct it. If the tone came out of the speaker it would be of no use.

However, there are also other issues that can increase lag such as an issue directly within the BT speaker or things within an environment like interference. In that event the lag may still be present even after doing the wireless sync.

I can understand frustration but the process works as intended, and in the event that there is still lag it means that outside factors need to be addressed.

If you’d rather bypass that, twist my words around, and become defensive then so be it. I will bow out of the discussion and let you do as you wish.
