Not Enough Space Available

I'm trying to upload video from a micro SD card to my iPad Pro. The error message says: "Not Enough Space Available. Importing requires 1.3 GB more space. Select fewer items or make more space available by removing videos, photos, or songs." The problem is that I have plenty of space on my iPad (466 GB according to iPad Storage) and 2 TB in the cloud. I don't recall this happening before updating to 13.4.1. Apple Support surprisingly was no help.

Any solutions out there?
