Photos are not uploading from iCloud to MacBook Pro

Hello everyone! I bough a new MacBook recently and for the last month I'm trying to get my pictures from iCloud downloaded to MacBook.

I've been in contact with my local Apple customer service, I've checked my iCloud online - all of the photos are there, which means that my iPhone syncing pictures with iCloud. On both my laptop and phone iCloud photos are enabled, but it still doesn't work. This is not my first MacBook, internet connection is good and it have never been a problem for me to sync photos on all of the devices before. The only way to get my photos on laptop is to connect phone via cable and import them, which is pain in the *** to do all the time.

I have tried all of the obvious thing that you can find on google, the only thing I haven't tried yet is complete reset of my MacBook since I don't have an external hard drive to make a backup.

Hopefully I can find a solution with your help guys ! Thank you in advance.

Are you running any anti - virus programs? Using a VPN?

Not knowing what you have tried, try going to System Preferences/iCloud (Apple ID for Catalina) and stop Photos syncing by unchecking the box. Wait a couple of minutes, then check syncing. Allow time for the sync to complete. The photos sync is very, very slow.

Last resort - have you tried signing out of iCloud, restarting, and then sign back in?

I have only 2.270 pictures according to iCloud, I doubt that it takes 3-5 days to download all of them.

Anyway, I will try it again.
