Cannot copy Artwork to Music (iTunes) since recent upgrade(s)

I find that since recent software upgrades I cannot copy the artwork of a CD into the "Get Info" pane in Music. It all appears to work OK ( the artwork shows in the pane) but then it does not materialise in the Music (iTunes) Library. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have a solution?
