External storage iPhone/iPad Pro

I can not see how much space is available on an external device using the files app on iPhone and/or iPad. Is there a work around or an app that can do this? I just want to see how much space I have left without having to plug into a laptop/computer.

Yes. Whilst iPadOS/iOS does not natively expose this information, there is at least one available App that can display this data - System Status Pro: HW Monitor:

https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/system-status-pro-hw-monitor/id401457165

The Storage Details page will show details of all mounted external filesystems and internal system partitions.

Here is an example of a 128GB USB device, connected via an Apple USB 3 Camera Adapter, formatted as exFAT:

You’ll note that the formatted available storage space is clearly displayed - along with total used.

I hope this is helpful in resolving your issue.
