I’m trying to find a way to use a USB keyboard (for music) in to my 2020 iPad Pro, and hearing what I’m doing.
I have tried two hubs, and although both work, the volume is coming out at 100%. No way to lower it.
Is the normal or are there hubs that will still allow the volume to be changed?
The USB headphone adapter works fine but of course i have no input to the ipad when using that.

You would be better off using a dedicated volume control being connected to a USB hub’s mini-phono port.
Yeah. Its an option. First i want to make sure there is no way of controlling the volume from the ipad itself.
I’m wondering if i use a USB to mini jack adapter in to one of the USB A ports in the hub. Will try that tomorrow when i get hold of a USB-C to A adapter.
Yes, thats what i ended up doing and it works perfectly. I already had the headphone to USB-C adapter, so got a couple of cheap USB-C to USB-A adapters.
Have you tried a USB-C to headphone jack adapter? (I am having the same issue...trying to find a solution before spending more money).
