i am a business owner with a personal apple id and i have 3 iphones for employees. they are all 3 signed into the same apple id so they can use the apps needed. When tracking them, they come up as the same. do i have to set up set up separate apple id for each one or is there a way to track a phone by number?

Find My should show the device name for each device. You can change the name on the devices at Settings > General > About > Name.
