My 2019 MacBook Pro is not charging and the battery had died. How can I reset SMC?

How do I know whether the SMC reset worked or not? My battery is an indication that the charger is plugged in even when it's not. Because of this, I am also unable to charge my laptop unless I force a restart while the charger is plugged in. I have tried resetting the SMC but the problem persists. How can I verify if the SMC reset was successful?

Please read If your Mac battery won’t charge. SMC Reset instructions are included in it.
