iPhone 11 Battery Leak From Extended Battery Back - corrosive damage

I’ve had an iPhone 11 with an original iPhone 11 extended battery pack which appears to have leaked. The area where it’s leaked is near the SIM card tray and it’s actually corrosive as it’s ‘melted’ away the metal on the SIM card tray and around the SIM card tray. You can see the white residue in the case where the battery has leaked. According to Apple engineers there’s no liquid in the battery so where has the white residue come from and how has the corrosion been caused in and around the SIM card tray ? I need some help as I believe this is dangerous and had that acid gone on to my hand it could have caused damage to my fingers.

Wow, I've never seen anything like this before! The only thing I can think of is that something punctured the battery inside your iPhone or inside the battery case. Check for any visible damage on the battery case and pop open the SIM tray on your iPhone to see if there is any battery liquid as it is corrosive and can cause more damage to your iPhone. If you see a steep decline in battery life or more liquid appears take your iPhone to a repair shop or Apple Store immediately.

I’ve been speaking to the Apple specialist team but all they keep saying is that Apple engineers are stating that the batteries don’t contain liquid so they can’t leak, however they can’t answer there the white powder has come from in the case and in the iPhone - I am 100% sure that white powder is from the battery and I would be willing to tear the sticker that reveals the battery and I’d be willing to bet there’s been some sort of leakage - I’m just concerned Apple will say I’ve invalidated the warranty !! I might go into an Apple store and do this when they’re eventually open
