Mac Pro 2020 Surround 5.1 optical-digital audio A present I have a Mid 2010 Mac Pro and I use surround 5.1 sound optical-digital audio a lot. Connecting a sound system to the mini m1 2020 Good Evening. :-) I've got the new mac mini m1 and an older sound (multimedia/home cinema-) system with an integrated 5.1. amplifier (Motiv 5) and a decoder-station too, both made by Teufel. I would like to know if there is a way to connect this devices. Maybe there won't be any surround sound but halfway acceptable stereo quality would be enough for me ...at first. Would that work? And if so, what would I need? Thank you for your support!

Answered my own question - I connected an Onkyo 5.1-Channel Home Theater Speaker System using a Thunderbolt 3 to HDMI cable. The HDMI male connected to the Onkyo, and the Thunderbolt 3 male connected to the built-in port on the Mac Pro Tower (2019). Got the cable from Monoprice.
