MacBook Pro to Monitor Mirroring

Is it possible to connect MBP to monitor and have my MBP open but screen black and just working on monitor? So basically functionality resembles the lid being closed, but I wish to keep the lid open to prevent overheating. I am on a 2020 MBP 13" and LG Ultrafine 4K monitor (latest version).

Screen Mirroring Monterey Not Working (from Menu Bar) I have a new Macbook Pro running Monterey. When plugging in an external monitor via hdmi, the "screen mirroring" option in the top menu bar doesn't list my monitor as a mirroring option. I AM able to mirror it when going through the system preferences > displays > display settings, but of course, I want to be able to mirror / extend my monitor quickly without having to do all this. How do I connect Macbook pro to external monitor? I need help making my Macbook pro work with external monitor. I connected my Macbook Pro to a Samsung U*J59 monitor using a usb-c to HDMI cable. In System Preferences/Displays, I see a display called U52J59x. I specified the mirror option. External monitor has power light, but display stays dark. ??? What else is needed?

broken MacBookAir Screen how to get the video output to display on an external monitor? I cannot see the screen image, so cannot access any of the setting/configuration features. I do have the necessary hardware to connect my computer to an external monitor.
