Hi , i recently bought the iPad pro 11 2020 and it happens that whenever i plug in the charging cable (from the box) the iPad starts making chimming sound.
Everything is working and completely fine but i dont understand where the sound is coming from? is this a faulty or error in the system?
Does anyone encounter the same thing?

If using an 18W (or higher rating) USB-PD Power Adapter (charger), frequent “chimes” may indicate a problem with the Power Adapter itself. The USB-PD Fast Chargers “negotiate” the charging voltage/current - and when switching - may cause a momentary interruption to the supply; the iPad may therefore chime after each interruption.
As a diagnostic tool, you should change to a different Power Adapter - if you have one, an Apple 12W Power Adapter would be ideal.

Speaking from personal experience, we had this same issue with one of our iPad Pro 11's. It wasn't the 18W charging brick. It was a defective cable. The Apple cables really aren't all that strong, tbh. I wound up replacing both our cables with better made USB C cables and I got them with USB C connector in a right angle to fit flush with the iPad as my partner is notorious for using his iPad plugged in in his lap putting pressure on the USB C plug. This solved the problem completely.

I would try with another cable if you have another USB C cable to try. It should only make the charging ding sound once when first plugged it in and then not again.
Clearly the cable and intermittent connections can also cause issues - but you had already covered this possibly 🙂
Yes, just really wanted to share my personal experience, which in hindsight, I should have added last night. In the OP's case, it is either the cable or the charging brick.
I did thought of this, but i'm hearing it more than once - i was trying to look for any notification that triggers too but it was absolutely fine.
the common sound of iPhone charging (ding) is there, only once.
It should make a charging chime when you first plug the charger into the iPad. It should be once. Are you hearing it more often than once?
