Have you tried using iCloud.com/Find My Phone using a computer browser?

Find My Phone - If your device is lost or stolen.

Find My Phone - Lock and track your device using Lost Mode.

I after marking the phone as lost I also delinked it from my Apple ID. Is there a way of relinking it again? I received an SMS yeturday informing that the phone was switched on after a week of being missing.

You would have to have access to the phone to link it back to your Apple ID.
