“No Service” after iOS 13.5.1 iPhone update

iOS 13.5.1 update created "no Service" once installed on my 7 iphone. Can't find out what to do to resolve this issue. Displays "No Carrier" on cellular in General. Need some help

I have managed to get it back working as a telephone!


I did the following steps:


  • Back-up phone to computer.
  • Erase without restore
  • Warnings that it wouldn’t restore the iPhone because it needed an update.
  • Sure enough when the iPhone came back to life, it would not restore.


Put your device in recovery mode and set it up again

  • On a Mac with macOS Mojave 10.14 or earlier, open iTunes. If iTunes is already open, close it, then open it again.
  • iPhone 7 : Press and hold the Side and Volume Down buttons AT THE SAME TIME. Keep holding them until you see the recovery mode screen.
  • Told me it was going to recover the iPhone.
  • iPhone 7 came back to life and Vodafone appeared!!
  • With it connected to iTunes it did a Restore as above.
  • It took about an hour to restore. And even longer to download all my apps.

This happened to my phone july 5th

I had no service and could no longer connect to wifi

I have a verizon iphone x unlocked and on Telekom Service

I have restarted every option including the phone completely and does not work.

I have my sim card in another phone and it works perfectly fine.

Just been speaking with Apple. The engineers need logs from the phones. Go into: Settings>Mobile Data >Network Selection, then switch off "Automatic" then if you don't see a list of network carriers pop up.. then get in touch with Apple support so they can run some diagnostic logs, they are trying to work on this but as it's fairly random they need data.

Hi All,


I am writing to you from Chile and I have the same problem for approximately 5 days, after updating to 13.5.1 my iPhone Xs Max was left "No Service".


I have tried everything mentioned here but it has not worked for me.


I currently have a call with apple for more than 2 hours and they have been testing and executing the remote diagnosis, they still do not know what it can be.


I will let you know any news

Apple needs to take responsibility before we all get samsungs! Im not going to let them force me into getting a new iPhone. They caused this with software specifically designed to cause cellular issues in my opinion. Even in airplane mode i get the message. Seriously???APPLE DO YOUR JOB AND FIX YOUR SOFTWARE.

I just installed iOS 13.6 on my iphone 7 and in addition to having the new features, the issue caused by the previous update remains. NO SERVICE!!!

What is Apple waiting for? This issue on our phones is global.

I was hoping that a new update would solve the problem, but it didn't. The only and disappointing solution from apple is a new purchase and that's probably what I'm going to do, but I'm sure it won't be an apple product. I'm so disappointed!

And new features is code for “we’ve moved everything around and changed the icons, so you’ll have to learn how to use your phone all over again”.


One thing I’ll say about Adobe Photoshop, I made a massive leap from CS4 to Creative Cloud and everything I was familiar with was in the same place.

I have to say. Since talking on this discussion my phone has gotten worse than ever. Hate to sound like a conspiracy nut but cellular is a major issue with this i7 and samsung is looking like my next phone. Tech support is in denial on this issue

Called Apple support about my iPhone 7 getting "no service" after iOS 13.5.1 update. As soon a I told them my serial number, they said there was a problem, "bring it to the Apple store/service place in Lynnfield MA for a brand new loaner while we try to fix your old phone. " 😃

this is still and on going issue for me on my iphone X, last night it did an automatic update to 13.6 and now again I have no cellular service this morning. Have put the SIM back in my old iphone 6 and its working fine. I'm currently on a call on hold with Apple support senior engineers again. Will report back.......

Ok, so getting nowhere with getting my iphone X's cellular signal back after the further 13.6 update. This time I can't seem to get the cellular service back at all even with Apple's help. Even with a full restore etc etc etc. So I'm having to use my old iphone 6 still. The X will be sent into Apple for repair now. They don't seem to know what is causing this issue to so many of us. Very annoying indeed, I have now wasted approx 4 days in total since the whole problem arose after doing the 13.5.1 update about 4+ weeks ago. I did manage somehow get it working again on 13.5.1 a few weeks ago and should never then of let it do the 13.6 update automatically.... but I was hoping it was the fix we all needed. Now it's completely useless! Not happy!
