iphone se 2020 with verizon visual voicemail does not work

I just purchased an iPhone SE 2020 and my carrier is Verizon, which supports visual voicemail. When I open my voicemail using the native phone app, I do not get any of the options that are outlined in the "visual voicemail" troubleshooting articles (for example, I cannot press "greeting" to change my greeting). Instead, all I have is a blank screen with a button in the middle that says "Call Voicemail." I know my voicemail is set up because I have confirmed that through testing, yet the only way for me to access it is to call it, rather than see messages display on my voicemail screen.


Everything I've read indicates this should work, yet it doesn't. Can someone help?

Thank you for your suggestion. I contacted Verizon and discovered that it wasn't that my line isn't provisioned (it was), it's that my previous SIM card was not compatible with the new phone (even though all appearances indicate it is compatible because everything else works). I am ordering a new SIM. Thank you for your response!
