MacBook Pro 2012 vs 2020 model

I have a mid 2012, 13” MacBook Pro, 2.9 GHz, intel i7. Runs fairly well. I’m headed to med school and they provide us with an iPad loaded with the apps the school uses. I like the idea of dual screens and sharing information easily between iPad and laptop. I’m curious if it’s worth trading in to get the newer MacPro or Air and if anyone has thoughts/comparisons between the 2012 and new model. Thank you!

What is the question? Your 2012 is 8 years old.

New "MacPro" is a desktop,

however a MacBook Pro or Macbook Air are both notebooks and "state of the art"—so yes it would be worth it if you want a new Mac.
