iPad. It has locked up saying "iPad is disabled connect to iTunes"

My wife has an iPad. It has locked up saying "iPad is disabled connect to iTunes" I have looked in various places and tried connecting to my computer While pressing the home button. a lead going to an iTune icon appeared but does not react to my touch. I am told this is a common problem. Any ideas please.

Unfortunately you must now fully restore your iPad to factory settings.


Please refer to the following Apple Support documents.


If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
