Today the SEND icon is no longer available in my Apple (Mac) Mail. Nowhere, cannot reinstate. The only wau I can send or reply or forward emails is to use Shift-Cmd-D. How do I get the SEND icon back?

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Have you tried customizing your toolbar to get it back?

To edit your tool bar in Mail, right click (Control key + left click) at the top of the browser just below where the Menu Bar is. A context window will appear next to your cursor that says Customize Toolbar... --click that

A drop-down window will appear showing you all the tools you can modify. If you just need the New Message tool, grab it with your mouse cursor and place it wherever you'd like. There's lots of choices. Otherwise if it's easier, you can just drag the default set back into your tool bar and start over.
