2020 iPad Pro connection to printer

I just bought the 2020 iPad Pro and want to replace my desktop at my business with it. I currently have a printer with a wired connection to my computer. If I had the right adapter can I run this printer with a wired connection to the iPad? Will the iPad recognize the printer this way?
