MacBook getting hot

I just bought a macbook pro 13 inch 2020, model #a2251. I have been using it for two days now. I've noticed that it gets really hot, and according to coconut battery reaches temps of over 100+ degrees consistently. I haven't been using anything power consuming on it. Just safari and I have my screen on half brightness. Even the keys are hot, and this is with giving in an hour of downtime to let it cool off.

Also, I use it only on a desk. I do not have a case on it yet.

Is this an outlier or is this common for MacBook pros? Prior to this I had an air and did not have this issue.

Is there something faulty?

No responses/answers yet. I talked to a Senior MAC advisor today. She had me do a few things. The fan came on when she had me shut down and power back on while holding the 'D' down. I haven't heard the fan before that time. The app I purchased 'Battery Monitor' runs consistently between 85-100 while using my device. She is having me let it cool completely down, restart in safe mode to see if my fan kicks on and/or it still runs hot. I did tell her that I have found multiple complaints regarding this model online.

After multiple calls with Apple support I made an appointment at the store. Ended up sending my MacBook Pro into Apple and they replaced the logic board, Touch ID board and "clean installed the latest Mac OS version."

I received it back yesterday. Uploaded my files, etc. from Time Machine (Outlook, Word, Excel, files) and am using it normally this morning. According to the third party app Battery Manager the current temp is 95 degrees and still no fan has kicked on. The MacBook is hot to touch on the bottom and the top is pretty warm.

Anyone else had any luck with anything?

Still having issues but my fans do work. They only turn on however when the cpu gets hot, not just the battery. The battery can get to 100+, the bottom feels very hot to the touch and the fan still won't turn on. I've noticed the higher I have my brightness, the hotter it gets. This makes sense of course as more power is used, except for the fact my brightness is not that high to begin with. I have to keep it very low -- less than 50% for it to be relatively okay.
