I just want it as a convenient way to access my files from my iPhone or MacBook pro as I said. If the power is down on my house (something that happens extremely rarely), I’m just out of luck and I will have to wait to get home to access those files. That I want isn’t anything serious or critical.
For example many times I want to download a specific file I used on a video composition on the iMac that I don’t have on the macbook and I want it to resume my composition or something like that. I don’t need the 100s of GBs to be transferred all at the same time, I just want to be able to access any of those files I want in case I will need it and save time instead of having to wait to go back home to get that file. And the files I will need are completely random (based on the reason I need it every time), so there isn’t some specific files that I can just move to iCloud and access them from there.
Right now I’m leaving AnyDesk open on iMac and I have set up WakeOnLAN on my network. So with the app called RemoteBoot on my iPhone I’m waking up my iMac from sleep and connecting to it via anydesk and from anydesk I’m moving the file I need that time to iCloud and when it’s done uploading I’m downloading it to my iPhone/MacBook Pro. But I think if I just can access the files with a file manager and not bother with anydesk (using macOS through an iPhone 5.8” display) it will be way more convenient.
