Can’t Login, keyboard keys scrambled, can’t get past password!

Hi all, I hope someone can help me. Since updating to the new OS, some of my keyboard keys stopped working. I tried getting another keyboard but could not get it to connect. Now, after logging out and trying to log back in, I find that some of my keys are scrambled and others just don’t work including my shift and delete keys. I therefore can’t get past my login screen, nor can I pair another keyboard. Is there a way to get in?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.15
