Mail app: “network offline” when not connected to WiFi

I’ve noticed that now when I disconnect my WiFi my Mail app gets the service message “network offline” at the bottom..


Any ideas how to stop this happening? I don’t remember it happening before.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Apple Support Communities. I understand that your Mail app is showing Network Offline whenever you disconnect your Wi-Fi.

I'm glad to help with this.


This is normal if you have Cellular Data disabled for the Mail app.

Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data and make sure it's enabled for Mail if you wish to use your Mail app when your not on Wi-Fi.
