Settings
Home screen and dock
turn off recent and suggested apps
I have a 6th gen
Under the dock I have the recent and suggested turned off
then under siri I have all 3 siri suggestions turned off
and I think I also went into each app and turned that off too for Siri.
Not sure which of these keep the suggestions from popping up. I did this a year or two ago when the suggested apps started to be a part of the dock.
I also have the Siri suggestions turned off. Basically I turned off everything because, for me, what I put in the dock is what I want in the dock and I don’t want the device ‘helping’ me. I have updated to 13.5.1 and do not have apps showing up.
Perhaps poke around in the siri settings to turn off siri suggestions as well.
Sky diver,
I did go to dock and turned off recent aps. It only removed the setting app. Apple has done an update that is causing the issue. Granted the other 2 aps had already been opened before the recent Apps had been turned off. The new update is leaving the bar open even if you can remove the Apps. Have you tried this since the latest update took place? If you try it please let me know how to remove the bar for aps on the main screen.
Thank you Winniethepo
Hello Sky diver,
Thank you for the information. When you said that you had everything turned off, other than Siri what else would that be that you would turn off? Do you mind me asking what Apple Ipad you have?
Thank you again,
Winniethepo
Hello sky diver,
Thank you. Do you turn off Siri and any thing else you turned off Under “settings”?
Thank you,
Winniethepo
