I lost my AirPods but the my find app shows me an address where they are, but the people there say they don’t have it, what can I do to get them back?

If your AirPods are out of Bluetooth range, out of charge, or in the case with the cover closed, Find My won't give a current location. You just have to find them manually by looking for them. However, Find My may list the most recent location where they were last connected.

Find my shows the last known location of the device. Besides the fact that the position might not be 100% correct, the device could have sent its last location close to there. I had somebody knock on my door before saying that their Apple Watch was showing to be at my house but it wasn't.
There have been people who have been killed trying to retrieve their stolen phones on their own. Consider yourself lucky.
What happens if I lost them but my find shows me an address and I went there and they say it’s not there? Can I do something about that?
