Pairing unsuccessful

I have an iPad Pro and iPhone 8. Each shows in the others Bluetooth. When I tap devices under BLUETOOTH it says “Pairing Unsuccessful”. however, when I tap Screen Mirroring (blank on both devices) the loading circle just keeps rolling. I turned iPad and iPhone on and odd and rebooted the Wi-Fi which they are Both connected to same Wi-Fi. Stuck

iPad, iOS 10

Hello Johnnyguam,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities! I understand you may have a question about how you can connect your iOS devices.

iOS devices cannot pair with each other over Bluetooth, but Continuity allows you to connect them for some functions. See if this helps: Use Continuity to connect your Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch

I hope this is able to resolve your issue. If you have any more questions or this does not resolve your issue, please reach back out on the thread!

Cheers.
