Bought Thunderbolt 3 to ethernet adaptor. My computer only has Thunderbolt 2 ports. Can someone tell me what I need to buy?

My MacBook Pro (Retina, 15 inch, Mic 2015) MaxOS Sierra Version 10.13.6 apparently has two thunderbolt 2 ports. It is according to my specs the fastest ports to use(10gbs). I need a Thunderbolt 2 to ethernet cable so that I can have the fastest internet connection possible.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.13

You need one of these: Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter - Apple

Do note however, that your internet connection depends on your Internet service provider, just because you have a port capable of 10GBps does not mean your Internet Service provider is giving you that, or that you paying for that speed.

The adapter will not magically make your connection faster if its not already provided at those speeds.

If you are paying for 100MB then you'll get 100MB, if your paying for 50MB then you'll get 50MB. regardless of the type of adapter you use.
