Hello, I have recently revived my Macbook pro and got High Sierra running, and then I installed Windows 10 through bootcamp. Windows 10 works great and everything works besides sound. When booting into Windows, there is a red X next to the audio icon that reads "No Audio Output Device is installed." I would really like to use windows 10 with full capability so any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

My USB drive that I used to install windows is a USB 2.0 drive. I would be fine with installing windows 7 or 8.1 because that is what is naively supported. But the only way to install it is with disc, which my Macbook cannot read. Also, What is the correct BIOS mode for a Macbook Pro mid-2011?

Is there a possibility of replacing the Optical drive?

It should be Legacy.
I would install from the optical drive but it cannot read any discs I burn on my windows PC with ISO images, and when I try to burn a disc it says that it cannot burn because the disc is not compatible.
In Windows, run msinfo32 and post the value of BIOS Mode.
BIOS Mode: UEFI
And all the latest bootcamp drivers are installed.
The UEFI mode is not the right mode for a 2011 Mac. Was Windows installed using the built-in Optical drive?
I could not burn or read any of my installer discs on the Mac. So basically my CD-ROM drive is non functional. I installed off of USB. Is there any way I could correct this?
If your USB2 Flash drive shows a Windows icon (not EFI Boot), you can try it. You will need to remove the current Windows partition using BC Assistant.
All of my drives say EFI boot when I put windows on an install USB and I don't know how to fix it.
Are these USB3 drives?
Can I install windows in legacy mode?
What type of blank discs are you using?
DVD-RW discs, I have CD-R discs I can use though
DVD-RW discs can be problematic. CD-R discs will not accommodate W10 ISOs. Do you have any blank DVD-R SL discs?
I do not know, I will look tomorrow when I have a chance but I probably don't have one. I will look though.
