I made several folders on my desktop for different subject screenshots.
How do I remove a screenshot from the folder to be seen on my desktop but NOT as my desktop display. I have High Sierra 10.13.6
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13
In the Finder, right/control-click on the screen shot, and then select copy from the secondary menu. Press the option key, and right/control click on the Desktop while choosing move file from the secondary menu. The screen shot will appear on your Desktop, having been moved from its original folder location.
Thank you but I was not able to move it as I was not sure of what I was doing.
I right/control clicked on the screen shot and selected copy, but when I pressed option key and right/control click there is NO "move file". There is a "set desk top picture".
I did not click "set desk top picture" because I do not want to set it as my desk top display picture ... I just want to get the screenshot photo out of the folder so I can see it on my desktop... but NOT as the whole screen display.
Also, because I didn't know what I was doing, I clicked "copy" several times so does that mean I have made several copies somewhere?
And what does "pathname" mean, because that came up after I clicked copy.
FWIW, you can just drag the screen shot from a folder on your desktop to the desktop.
