Allowed iPhone to be hacked?

I stupidly downloaded Teamware app on to my iPhone 11 whilst talking to “BT” about my poor broadband connection via my landline (they called me)

i contacted ted my bank and on their advice I have reset my phone to factory settings

Any advice on what else I need to do would be very much appreciated

can I restore my phone from the cloud? Or does that make me vulnerable again?

If so am I safe to use my banking app?

Thanks in anticipation of your help

From a woman who feels violated of her sensibility!!!

Thanks

iPhone 11, iOS 13

Restoring to factory settings was a good thing to do. The main thing at this point is to make sure you have a strong password. After doing so it's back to business as usual unless a backup was made after installing the problem software. I wouldn't use the backup. Also being violated in terms of sensibility is prohibited.

I wanted to strongly recommend changing passwords to all important accounts (website and/or app), especially relating to banking, shopping, healthcare, or any other with sensitive personal information. Just as a precaution.

If you don’t already use a password manager, I’d recommend it. It makes remembering, changing, and creating more secure, complex passwords a much faster process.

My advice is probably mentioned in one of the links above, but I wanted to emphasize the importance of changing your other passwords to increase your online security.

Hi yes i only speed read it but thank you so much for all the detail - i will have a ptoper look tomorrow - very stressful afternoon!

So my back ups are usually overnight so wouldn't have been backed up with the teamviewer app - now deleted

can i therefore go to the cloud and get my info back?

Thank you for your comment about “prohibited”

If you installed Teamviewer on your iPhone, there's no problem there.

Whoever you talked to may have wanted to access your device, though it, but Teamviewer on an iPhone does not allow that access to the iPhone. so no issue there.

If you had let them access your computer then that may have been an issue.

Anyway, if you restored your iPhone, then your fine, and your backup also has no issues and can be used.
