Windows 10 BSOD acpi_bios_error

Last night, I left my MacBook Pro (13-inch 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) running my Windows 10 OS in its partition. This morning when I woke it, it was on the Mac OS login screen. I restarted it, pressed Option, selected Windows to boot, then received the dreaded Blue Screen of Death. The error code: ACPI_Bios_Error. I uninstalled the entire OS, wiped and removed the partition, but still receive the same message when trying to reinstall Windows 10. Does anyone know of a work around?

Newest macOS (Catalina).

Yes

Yes

I was able to resolve the issue.

  • removed partition
  • did a VRAM reset (option + command + p + r)
  • downloaded a new Windows 10 ISO
  • installed via bootcamp

installed and seems to work fine now.

I do, or did. I had the issue resurface, but after letting it sit for maybe a day, it booted right back up to Windows like nothing happened. I also noticed that I had a Bootcamp update.

That being said, I no longer update the windows software until I see a bootcamp update also. I haven’t had any issues since.
