The solution is to replace your iPad - with a model that supports iPadOS13. Procreate now requires iPadOS 13.2 or higher.

The original “first generation” iPad Air cannot be updated to iPadOS 13.x as it lacks the necessary minimum specification to support the newest version.

Update Support for iPad Air ended in September 2019 - and whilst there have since been a few “point” updates to address explicit security issues, the final supported version is iOS 12.4.7. As such, your description implies that you have already updated to the most recent version of iOS supported by your iPad.

If Apps that you need require iPadOS 13.x, then you have no alternative other than to replace your iPad with a newer model. Many App developers have withdrawn old App versions from the App Store. In the case of Procreate, following an update to a system library upon which the Procreate App has dependency, earlier versions of the App cannot be downloaded.

Sorry, this is perhaps not the news that you were hoping to hear, but I hope this information is helpful in informing your options.

Return that iPad and attempt to get your money back.

Get an iPad that is compatible with iPadOS 13.

Also, if you were planning to use an Apple Pencil, NO versions of the Apple Pencil works with any older model iPads.

You need newer iPads that are both iPadOS AND Apple Pencil compatible.

Here are your options.

2018, 6th gen iPad

2019, 7th gen iPad

2016, 9.7 inch screen iPad Pro.

Older 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro models

2017 10.5 inch screen iPad Pro

2019 iPad Air 3.

2019 iPad Mini 5

For non-Apple Pencil compatible iPads, but iPadOS 13 compatible iPads

2014, iPad Air 2

2015, iPad Mini 4

2017, 5th gen iPad

I need to install Procreate app for my Ipad air 1 ???
