diagnostic not running

I tried to run a diagnostic on my MacBook Pro, but holding down d didn't work. I tried option+D and got "Starting Internet Recovery" and then it said "Run Diagnostics" and asked if I wanted to "run offline" or "I agree". I tried both options. Then my mouse froze and nothing happened. I'm trying to run a diagnostics on my battery and nothing is working.

Try an SMC reset.

Option-click the battery icon on the menubar. Any condition other than "Normal" or "Good" means the battery is either wearing out or bad. "Service Battery" or "Replace Now" indicate either macOS has detected a fault with the battery or the battery is completely worn out respectively.
