Since starting to use Mojave 10.14.6, the OS is requesting all users on the iMac to change their passwords about every month. The change request occurs at the account login, and usually occurs on the same day for every user. This is way too frequent for us. How can I adjust the frequency with which we receive these required password changes?

Is your Mac managed by someone else?
Are you connected to an Active Directory server?
More often password policy is setup in Active Directory, like the password length, login attempt to lock, change every 30days etc... the list goes on. This is done by the macOS administrator.
If you are not connected to Active Directory it will not work.

1-No, it is managed by me.
2-I am not aware that it is connected to an Active Directory server (at least, I did not set this up), but how would I check? The terminal command in the post you suggested looks relevant; is there any reason that doing this would be risky if the problem is NOT related to Active Directory?
